The Museum is now open until the end of October so do come and look around the new layout and displays. There is a lift which can take you up to the Grade 2* listed building, The Market House, and also round the first floor where you can see and read all about the Civil War in the Town.

There are a couple of talks organised for July. The first one is on Thursday 5th July given by Alan Crawley, member of the Commons Conservators. Alan will be talking about the creatures living in the river and the problems the Conservators face with the river, and what they hope to achieve in the future. As we all live near the Torridge we should be interested in what is in it ans how we can help to look after it.

The second talk is on Thursday 26th July by Harry Juniper, the famous Potter from Bideford. He will brig his son with him and he will set up a film recorded by the BBC about himself and his pottery. Then he will talk about when he was an evacuee in Torrington. I am sure it will be a very interesting evening.

Both talks will be in the Market House starting at 7pm, the doors to the museum will be open at 6.30pm for tea and coffee. There will be a £3 charge per person.

Opening times for the museum: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am to 4pm. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10.30pm to 1pm.
