Come and visit Torrington Museum in the centre of the Town.

We now have a Cavalier and Parliamentarian soldier standing outside the Museum welcoming you in! The museum is now open for the Summer season, the displays have been changed and cleaned. There is a 1646 Civil War room were you can try on the clothes they would have worn in those days. Displays are to do with local history, glove making, dairy and items on fishing. We are also selling a marvellous new book, ‘The Brief History of Torrington’ written by Dr Hugh Reed, very readable with interesting maps and photographs.

Opening times for the museum:-

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10.30am to 4.00pm

Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.10.30am to 1.00pm

Looking forward to seeing you

The museum hosts over 4700 artefacts, the largest number held by any North Devon museum.  The Museum has a  lot of exciting plans for the future but does need more help to bring these to fruition.
